Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother, were both authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish, is descended from Ryder's Jewish father. Ryder is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Ryder's younger sister is Uria. Ryder along with her whole family moved to Mendocino County in California at the age of seven. Ryder was only seven years old. There they didn't have electricity. Television books were the only way for Ryder to pass the time. Eventually, she began to read extensively. Ryder aged 12 enrolled at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. In 1986 she was offered her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas at just fifteen years old. Ryder experienced bullying at her high school. She hoped acting could bring change. However, it didn't occur. However, she continued to pursue her dreams. In 1988 she had her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in various films. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her performance in The Age of Innocence (1993).
