Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. The current president is and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss born in California was raised with an affluent life. Jerry Buss, her father, was an entrepreneur in real estate who was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened when her parents separated in the year 1972. When she was 19 years old, she became the General Manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. Her first role was vice president of Lakers prior to taking over the role of President of Great Western Forum. Buss and her siblings, five sisters and brothers, as well as their father who owned the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder until his death in 2013, inherited the ownership via an estate. Each of them enjoyed the same voting rights. Buss was elected in 2013 to take charge of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss co-owns Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional company based in Los Angeles.
